Interview Dr. Cody Rodewald By David Nelson

I have personally been to many and have worked at a few chiropractic clinics over the years but I have not seen this amazing technology before that Dr. Cody Rodewald implements into his business at Align Chiropractic. Even though Dr. Cody started his business early in 2017, he has seen great success in a short amount of time and fills a much needed void in the Lakeville area. I was excited to learn more about this budding entrepreneur and local Lakeville business owner so let’s get crackin’ (pun intended).

Describe your business
Align Chiropractic is a “structurally based chiropractic” facility where “engineering meets chiropractic care”, said Dr. Cody. His goal for his clients is to “get better faster and to stay better longer.”

What made you decide to open this business?
Back in high school, Dr. Cody suffered a severe hockey injury that was quite debilitating. Dr. Cody said he tried a variety of rehab and therapies but only truly felt like he was improving when he was being seen by a local chiropractor. From that time on, Dr. Cody wanted to share his success in treatment with others by becoming a chiropractor himself. Dr. Cody said he has family in the area and knew “Lakeville was it” for his new business and wanted to start his company here in Lakeville.

What has surprised you most when owning a business?
“Growing fast!” has surprised him and how successful his business has become in a short amount of time. Dr. Cody went on to say that he had to “wear every hat right away” to learn his business but like every successful entrepreneur, he is looking to start delegating many of the tasks that he doesn’t have to handle himself. He said his goal is to “not work in but on” his business which is where most business owners should be focusing on.

What would your clients say they love more about your business?
Dr. Cody mentioned his clients love his one on one attention and the he “spends quality time with each of them.” He works very hard at making his clients feel at home with personal touch and they are not just a number. He said he enjoys hearing a client say, “No one has ever told me this before” or “I’ve not felt this great in years.

What is something most people don’t know about the business?
Dr. Cody should be very proud of his business model and how he’s really brought in the future of chiropractic care to our area. Dr. Cody said most people don’t realize how scientific and analytical chiropractic treatment is in today’s time. Align Chiropractic has some of the top technology and combined with professional treatment, Dr. Cody should see decades of continued success in the area.

Do you have any exciting plans for the future that you want customers to know about?
Due to the growth of Align Chiropractic in Lakeville, Dr. Cody is starting to hire on more staff to help streamline his business so that he can spend more “valuable time” with each client along with his family. He also said they plan on hosting free community based events to help educate local residents. He mentioned a “Women’s night” and “Athlete night” as a couple of his expected topics. Knowledge is power!

What do you like most about being an entrepreneur?
The ability to have his own business model and “treatment styles” were the driving forces behind Dr. Cody Rodewald in starting Align Chiropractic in Lakeville.

Do you have any advice that you want to share with other entrepreneurs?
Since Dr. Cody is a newer entrepreneur, he had a lot of great advice to share. “Be prepared to wear many hats”, “always be optimizing your systems” and “focus your energy on what your differentiation factor is.” I’m sure if you stopped by Align Chiropractic, Dr. Cody would love to chat more about his journey into becoming a business owner.

What are your favorite things to do in the neighborhood?
Dr. Cody and his wife like to try out what Lakeville has to offer. Lakeville Brewing Co is one of their favorites much like many local residents! Considering they have a 6 month old newborn, their time is limited but when they can, they will go to Lake Marion area every day over the summer if possible.

Why do you think it is important for people to shop local?
It is not “just the monetary benefits staying here but the overall confidence strengthens in the local community and economy.” said Dr. Cody. This in turn helps the communities “grow within and not rely on other mean of generating income.”

What do you love most about the neighborhood?
We get the big city amenities with a small town feel!
