Crying is a natural instinct for any infant to relay information. All babies cry, and some cry…a lot. However, there is a difference in crying, and having colic. How can you tell? There is a simple “Rule of Three” to determine if your infant might have colic. If you answer “Yes” to any of the following three questions, it would be a good idea to get your child checked for colic.
-Do they ever cry for 3 hours a day?
-Do they cry uncontrollably for 3 days out of the week?
-Have they cried abnormally for three or more weeks?
If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions, it would be a great idea to get your little one checked for colic.
How can chiropractic help?
Through detailed examinations, a large proportion of infants have been found to have structural shifts in their spinal column. Although these shifts are small, they can have tremendous effects on an infant’s mood, development, and well-being.
All that pediatric chiropractors do is locate where these misalignments are in the infant’s spinal column, and simply put them back to where they are supposed to be. This is done very gently and accurately. There is no pushing, twisting, or popping. It is simple touch and hold technique that is very safe and effective.
